Owners Lawrence and Lois Penn decided to build the Preston Ridge Winery in the Spring of 2009, with a vision of creating Martinsville's first winery and its finest wine bar. Nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just minutes from the Blue Ridge Airport and the Martinsville Speedway, Preston Ridge Winery offers a quiet setting for travellers, local wine consumers and businessmen visiting this majestic part of Virginia. In 2003, Lawrence Penn began as a home winemaker, and over the next few years realized that a career was about to take shape when friends and family repeatedly called upon him for more and more of the wines that he produced. He was given room to experiment, and created quite an eclectic menu of wines. Lawrence and Lois knew that in order to achieve their long standing dream of sharing great wine with the community, they would have to establish their own wine bar. Lawrence and Lois opened the doors of Preston Ridge Winery to the world for our walk-in guests on Wednesday March 17, 2010. Preston Ridge Winery is destined to be Martinsville's best wine bar and one of Virginia's finest destination experiences.
